With Easter not too far away I am on a mission to find knitting projects for this time of the year which is how I discovered this delightful knitting pattern for a rabbit chocolate orange cover,

This project provides a way to knit something to go with an Easter egg that will make it more of a gift for a young child. Then after the season is done it can be used decoratively or even as a bedtime sleep toy.

Where to Get the Pattern

For a small investment supporting the designer, you’ll get instructions on making the bunny and the lettuce he sits in.

The design is knitted in stocking stitch and all done flat.

What Yarn Type Do You Need?

You’ll need less than 25g of double knitting brown and green and oddments for the other features. This makes it a project that’ll help you reduce your stash of yarn and keep the costs down especially if you have the yarn colours.

Knitting Needles ?

To make up this project a pair of 3.25mm (US 3) and 4mm (US 6 ) single-point knitting needles are required.

Anything Else?

To make this little chaps features you will need to either embroider his eyes with some dark yarn or purchase a pair of safety eyes. Although they are called “safety eyes” I am always a bit nervous to add them so I tend to use embroidery stitches for this part. If you want more information on how to do this I’ve included a video below that shows you one way to do it.

How to Embroider Eyes on a Knitted Rabbit

I like that this design can be used after Easter time and that the bunny has been made from parts that give it a more realistic 3-D look rather than being flat.

It is an ideal knitted small project to make for Easter time.
