There’s something so special about bringing handmade traditions into the festive season. A knitted Christmas nativity scene isn’t just a decoration but a way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with your own hands. Soft, colourful, and full of character, this nativity knitting pattern lets you create a manger scene that can be cherished for many years.
I have a nativity scene made out of wood that was made and given to my mother by her friend many years ago. It is a treasured family heirloom that reminds us not only of the famous Christmas story but also of our parents and their friend. When I saw this pattern, I decided it was time to make another nativity scene, this time in yarn.
This particular pattern includes all the much-loved figures: Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus in the manger, the three Kings, an angel, a shepherd, plus the sheep, donkey, and camel. Everything you need to make a complete and meaningful nativity set.
