This charming knitted elf pattern is an adorable little project that is perfect for a Christmas knitting project.
Downloadable Pattern
The downloadable design allows you to create a tiny elf that happily sits on a swing, complete with festive colours and interesting details such as the bells on his hat, scarf and shoes. Rainebo is the knitting designer who created the pattern, along with many other cuddly knitted toys. Her pattern is available for a small investment – click the image of the elf to download your copy.

Knitting Skills Needed
It’s knitted in the round using intermediate knitting techniques, making it a knitting project for those with some experience. It can be created with double-pointed needles or on circulars using the Magic Loop method. Anyone who enjoys creating seasonal decorations or handmade gifts will love working on this project.
Yarn and Needles?
The project uses a double-knit weight of yarn and 3.25mm (size 3) 32” (around 80cm )circular knitting needle if you are using the Magic Loop technique.
You will need a selection of colours of the DK yarn. I like the Paintbox DK cotton yarns as they have a big range of colours to choose that will match this project, such as
- Rose Red
- Paper White
- Champagne White, and
- Racing Green
What I like most is that it’s an ideal project for Christmas knitting, adding extra cheer to the holiday season. I’ve enjoyed watching my great nieces and nephews play with similar knitted toys I’ve made in past years, which always brings a smile.
