You will knit them flat on straight single pointed knitting needles and then sew a seam (cast-on edge joined to the cast-off edge) to form them – leaving a gap for the thumb.
Yarn ?
You will need to have some bulky yarn like chunky available to use. This weight of yarn is good for beginners as it’s easier to see the stitches and it knits up very quickly too – so you see the results and that’s encouraging for beginners! Around about 70 metres of yarn is needed to complete them.
Size of Needles?
6mm (US 10) size needles are used with the chunky yarn weight. Again these thicker needles are beneficial to beginners who are still getting used to handling them. The stitches you make will be bigger and so it’s easy to view what you’re doing.
Anything Else Needed?
The items need to be seamed once the knitting is done so make sure you have a large eye tapestry needle to do that part.
Stitches You Need To Know How to Do
As this pattern is for beginners the only stitch knowledge needed is to be able to cast on and off and to know how to do the knit and purl stitches.
