With October just around the corner, I was looking around for things to knit for Halloween. I discovered loads of patterns for all manner of spooky-themed items. Some were wearable items, some large and more long term projects and many that were quick and easy projects you can complete in an afternoon or evening while watching tv.

I have put together 5 that I liked best in this post.

Making these items will not only be fun but many of them can be repurposed when the season is over. For example, the witch and collection of pumpkins could be used as a pin cushion when she is not required for spooky duties. They can be used as gifts to little children at this time. Giving them may also mean you could reduce the amount of sweets you hand out .... As we all know sugar is not good for anyone, especially in excess and especially for little children.

Decorate your dining table with them to add to the atmosphere.

I have selected these 5 as they are short term projects that are not going to take too long to make.

They have made it on the list also because they are just a bit of fun for the day and should not cause any distress to young children.
