I had been using a small table lamp, but space on the stool that I use next to my chair is limited. That's why I thought I'd look for one that could stand on the carpet next to my chair.
Several years back I looked after an elderly neighbour who was suffering from macular degeneration. As she loved to do tapestry her family bought her one of these standing lights that had an amplifying lens attached to it. I thought this would be a good solution for my knitting especially when I have to unpick a section or have dropped a stitch.
In searching for better lighting for my knitting I found these 5 products that gave me what I needed namely:
* stand alone on the carpet
* lens to enlarge my work for fixing errors
* LED bulbs
Knitting , like most other hobbies, requires equipment to do it correctly, and adequate lighting especially at night is important. Trying to make out stitches in a dark yarn strains your eyes and you may also end up making mistakes.
Overall I think these lamps will solve the issue for me, it just boils down to price at the end of the day. Click the images (Amazon affiliate links ) to see the prices.
